Outdoor Equipment Hire 2010
Snowgoose Mountain Centre stores department has modern, well-maintained clothing, footwear and equipment. The gear is intended mainly for use on our courses, but there are times when it is not being used. This means that, should you that you realise that you've forgotten your helmet or about to launch on a river and suddenly find you've left your buoyancy aid at home, we should be able to help.
Please - It's always worth a phone call or e-mail first to check that we have gear available and that it meets your needs. You will have to hand over a deposit - and it's all yours for the day or longer.
For your own safety – and that of our gear – evidence of adequate experience may be required - you will be asked what you intend doing with the gear and what previous experience you and your entire group have in doing the relevant activity.
You may want to try your hand a new sport but don’t want to invest in all the gear first? We have the ideal solution with our gear hire service which lets you hire out anything from a pair of walking boots to a Canadian Canoe for up to a week. Choose from one of our packages or just the individual piece of equipment you need.
For those wanting to take canoes away to complete their own journey, it may be that you or your group do not fancy driving your canoe trailer up from the south of England or from overseas. It may work out cost effective to fly up from the south - there are some very cheap flights available. This service can include a complete hire package of canoes or kayaks, paddles, buoyancy aids and all the other odds & ends. We can also provide roof racks; a trailer or a pick up drop off service. Route planning service, access, advice, maps on request
A Security Deposit is required with each item payable in cash, credit card with additional ID or (blank) open cheque. Pre booking is advised. Daily hires usually start from 10.00 am or by prior arrangement.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a hire booking to persons we consider not to have adequate previous training or paddling experience.
All outdoor activities are considered to be risk sports and should be assumed to be so. It is prohibited to use any boat or equipment in a manner which is contrary to the accepted BCU / National Governing Bodies safety, access and environmental guidelines & regulations.
