dinghy sailing
overview
The Lochaber & Fort William area bounded by an exclusive coastal & marine environment and is in one of Scotland's premier training locations. Snowgoose Mountain Centre is surrounded by safe water with easy access sheltered tidal waters of Loch Linnhe and access to the open sea down the length of Loch Linnhe beyond Corran Narrows. The centre's position offers exceptional facilities for watersports enthusiasts of all levels. We have a small fleet of 16' Devon Yawls which can take up to 4 students plus an instructor. This is an exciting all weather dinghy which is fun to sail but is also fast and responsive for either single handed sailing or a family day out.
Plus an exciting 21' Flying 15 Keel boat. What is a Flying 15? This is a dinghy with a keel – an exciting 2 person racing keel boat, with the characteristics of a dinghy! It planes (this means that you can get wet!). It is exhilarating.
Our dinghy sailing takes place on the sheltered, tidal head waters of Loch Linnhe – lust round the corner from Fort William. This gives us easy access to the small islands in the loch as well as the more open waters of lower Loch Linnhe with its panoramic views of Ben Nevis and the mountain ranges.
