Sailing Dinghy Hire

Our sailing dinghies are 16' Devon Yawls which have been modified to a sloop rig. They are fun to sail in most weathers either single handed or for the family taking 4-6 persons comfortably with ample room in the deep cockpit for gear with dry storage space. They have been used successfully for sailing expeditions with young people.

The heavy centre plate (175lb cast iron) and ballast (144lb lead ballast) help towards inherent stability with a classic clinker hull. There is a large 167 square feet sail area with a traditional 2' 3" wooden bowsprit – which all adds to exhilarating sailing in most weather conditions.

Fishing Rod Hire

The end of the Caledonian Canal and the tidal waters of Loch Linnhe are accessible from the end of the pier at Corpach – all only yards away. This is a favourite spot for locals and visitors to try their luck for mackerel, sea trout, some cod, saith and pollock. The ideal time is when the mackerel are following the sprats up the loch – along with hungry seals and occasional dolphins. We hire fishing rods by the day – there is a standard minimum charge for this. We charge a "security" deposit on the rods, reels and spinners. Usually not bait is required. Any gear lost or mangled is charged for out of this and the remainder refunded on the return of the gear.

Fishing Trips

We have a 20' motorised boat which we use for fishing trips on Loch Linnhe, which can take 4 adults comfortably. This is available for the half day, full day or evenings by arrangement. The charge for this does not include the hire of rods. There is a small cooker on board along with a covered cabin area which makes for an ideal family or friends day out on the water – for fishing or a trip down the loch to see the seals and other wild life.
